SOHI Fitness is about losing weight, but it is much more than getting into shape. It is achieving your desired level of physical health and well-being.
How high do you want to go?
SOHI Fitness is more than looking good. It is a lifestyle. Do you want to play with your kids or watch them from the sidelines? Where will your family be if your health fails? Do you want to enjoy life to the fullest or sit at home watching television or browsing Facebook? Would you rather have energy at work or feel sluggish, turning to coffee, soda, or sugary snacks to get you through the day?
SOHI Fitness is about replacing self-defeating behavior and negative thinking with more positive ones to not only reach your weight loss goals, but maintain them. SOHI Fitness is not just living life, it is living it better.
Where do you want to be?

I am a personal trainer with over 12 years experience helping people lose weight and get fit. I got my Bachelors of Science from Texas A&M University in Kinesiology and an ACE Certification so that I would be able to help people lose weight, improve their self esteem, teach people to eat better and train people to accomplish more than they thought possible. I trained marines in Hawaii as a civilian to lose weight and improve their fitness scores. I then went on to train firemen and policemen to get in shape for their jobs. In the meanwhile I had 2 kids of my own and decided to broaden my business and become one of the first boot camp and personal training companies in Hawaii. Extreme Beach Boot Camp was then established in 2008, with the name later being changed to SOHI Fitness. I have grown over the years successfully having people lose 100’s of pounds. I love helping people to succeed in their weight loss while challenging them to overcome obstacles in their lives. I have had clients who never wanted to workout previously, come to me, lose weight and feel so fit and confident they have gone on to train for triathlons and marathons.I run boot camps for people of all levels including corporate and competition boot camps specific to people over 200 lbs., Hawaii’s only “Hawaii’s Smallest Winner.” Some clients include Nordic PCL, Mary Knoll men’s and women’s tennis teams and American Savings Bank. In addition to running my SOHI fitness business, I am a contract varsity year-round conditioning tennis coach at MidPac.
I believe in combining eating and exercise together to get optimal results and I use various sports drills, TRX bands, weighted balls, jump ropes, agility ladders, sand bags and other techniques and equipment to motivate you to have fun and burn the greatest amount of calories possible for your fitness level. As I am the mother of two small children, I understand time is precious and every workout should target your desired results. My passion is to see my clients succeed and rid them of any obstacle keeping them from their goal. I like to remind my clients “Look how far you have come, not how far you have to go.”
I have competed in over 30 races and 9 figure competitions including:
16th overall female -2011 Great Aloha Run
3 hours 34 minutes – 2010 Honolulu Marathon – Qualifying for the Boston
3 Honolulu Marathons
1 Ultramarathon (Texas)

Through these opportunities:
I met Gilad Janklowicz of Bodies in Motion and appeared in two of his infomercials as a figure model.
I was recently filmed in a Japanese commercial with an Olympic gold medalist marathon runner.
The Village voice found me and wrote a brief article on me and then followed it up with an interview in their blog.
Physical fitness is an important aspect of my life and I continue to educate myself in the latest trends. I have certifications in TRX Suspension Training, Fitball, Spinning, Yoga/Sculpt, Effective Strength Training, and Exercise for Special Populations. However, fitness is only one aspect of my life. Damon and I have been married for thirteen years and we have two wonderful boys. I enjoy spending time with my family at the beach, body boarding, attending church activities, oil painting, and have recently taken up voice lessons. I spend most of my time in outdoor activities with my family in beautiful Hawai’i.

Success. Happiness. Fulfillment. In our work, our relationships, our lives. Reaching them may sometimes seem elusive, not because we don’t have the ability, but because we often sabotage ourselves.
We buy gym membership, but never go. We avoid trying something new, telling ourselves “I can’t,” or “I’m not good enough.” The first step towards our goals is always tomorrow or when the time is right. We believe other people can change and “just do it,” but not us. There is never enough time to take care of ourselves or what is truly important in our lives.
